Everyone has their own editing style. When a creator makes a Lightroom preset it’s often representative of what they like.
For example, some creatives prefer their photos super bright and airy, almost to the point of oversaturation. You’ll see this a lot in wedding photography. Other creatives prefer dark images, really using those grays and blacks. Several landscape photographers who love moody skies fall into this category.
As for my personal editing style, it’s subtle. Especially when it comes to travel photography. I prefer an image to look somewhat true to life, rather than artificial. I lean more towards warmer tones, and prefer to enhance colors in a scene, rather than add them in.
You’ll notice these style preferences in this free Lightroom preset package we’ve put together for you.
Aw, this was a really nice post. Finding the time and actual effort
to produce a good article… but what can I say… I
put things off a lot and never manage to
get nearly anything done.
Thanks Pedro. Glad you liked the post.
Thanks! I only have the mobile app, but followed the instructions and these worked great. I love the fall day preset on the photos I took around Elk River. Gorgeous!
You’re very welcome. So happy to hear you are already making great use of them.
