We are so excited to have our Free Lightroom Presets – Seasons Collection finalized. Yup, completely free for you to download to your Lightroom desktop or mobile app.

Our Seasons Collection contains six seasonal presets to help bring out those spring pinks, warm up those summer sands, and make those autumn leaves pop.

Why are we giving them away for free? We feel everyone should love their photos, and be excited to share them. Presets are a great way to learn and ease into photo editing, and this is our way of helping you get started.

What we do ask, is to leave us a comment below on which preset is your favorite, and we would love to see what you create with them, so please tag us on Instagram or Facebook with your photos.

"Photo-editing is an art, and like all art, beauty is subjective."

Everyone has their own editing style. When a creator makes a Lightroom preset it’s often representative of what they like.

For example, some creatives prefer their photos super bright and airy, almost to the point of oversaturation. You’ll see this a lot in wedding photography. Other creatives prefer dark images, really using those grays and blacks. Several landscape photographers who love moody skies fall into this category.

As for my personal editing style, it’s subtle. Especially when it comes to travel photography. I prefer an image to look somewhat true to life, rather than artificial.  I lean more towards warmer tones, and prefer to enhance colors in a scene, rather than add them in.

You’ll notice these style preferences in this free Lightroom preset package we’ve put together for you.

How To Use These Free Seasonal Lightroom Presets

We’ll explain how to install our free seasonal Lightroom presets with the download.

Once the presets are installed, bring up your photo you want to edit in the Develop tab (Lightroom for desktops). Editing automatically opens in Lightroom Mobile once you select a photo.

For desktops, presets appear on the left, just under the Navigator preview window. For mobile, you’ll need to swipe left on the bottom adjustment toolbar to find “presets.”

Lightroom Desktop Presets window

Use the preview window to determine which preset or presets work best with your photo, then just click the preset to apply.

It’s important to realize presets are your starting place. You’ll likely need to tweak adjustments such as exposure, temperature, and color selection to get the desired effect. For more information, see our post on using Lightroom presets correctly.

Specifically, our presets do not adjust exposure, so that may be the best place to start if your photo is too bright or too dark. Also, most of our presets have a slight vignette to pull the viewers eye into the main subject. Depending on your subject matter and cropping, you may want to adjust accordingly.

We recommend reading our post How to correctly use Lightroom presets for 6 useful tips for getting the most out of any preset you download or purchase.

Compatibility

Our presets are XMP files, which are compatible with these versions of Lightroom and newer:

  • Lightroom Classic 7.3
  • Lightroom CC 1.3

For Lightroom Mobile users, we’ve included a set of DNG images which can be uploaded to your photos. From there, you can then save the preset. No need for a desktop. See our other post on Install Lightroom Mobile Presets without a desktop.

What Free Presets Are Included?

Spring Pink - Free Lightroom Preset

The soft pink flowers of spring are one of my favorite things about the season. Not just the Cherry Blossoms, but the Saucer Magnolia’s and Dogwoods we get here in the south. Unfortunately, the daylight tends to washout the beautiful colors. Our Spring Pink Preset really brings back the light pinks and delicateness of these flowers.

Spring Yellow - Free Lightroom Preset

Another beauty of spring are the bright yellow Daffodils that proudly pop up to warn that spring is on its way. In the UK, you’re also blessed with the gorgeous yellow Rapeseed fields that stretch for miles all over areas like the Cotswolds.

Our Free Spring Yellow Lightroom Preset brings out those beautiful yellows and tones down the washed out whites. Also, it wouldn’t be spring without deep rich greens.

Summer Sand - Free Lightroom Preset

Colors of summer are warmer, lots of orange in the sky and on those beautiful sandy beaches. Also, I like my summer skies to really show off those brilliant blues and have clouds with some definition.

Use our Free Summer Sand Lightroom Preset to get that semi-HDR look, while really bringing out those summer tones.

Fall Day - Free Lightroom Preset

My favorite season, but shooting in Raw really dulls a lot of the vibrant colors of fall. So, this is probably one of the few types of photos I like having a bit of fun with the colors and really pushing them to the edge.

Our Fall Day Free Lightroom Preset is best used on bright fall scenes with mostly yellows.

Fall for Orange - Free Lightroom Preset

If you’re after something a little different, I love experimenting with our Fall for Orange Free Lightroom Preset. Too over-dramatic to use on photos you want to keep true to life, but it’s great for really finding those orange tones, to bring a unique perspective on a scene.

Winter White - Free Lightroom Preset

Winter is a great time to capture dramatic scenery. Often the challenge is, winter snow comes out a bit gray. I always start work on these photos using our Winter White Free Lightroom Preset to bring out the shadows and show off those whites.

Aw, this was a really nice post. Finding the time and actual effort
    to produce a good article… but what can I say… I
put things off a lot and never manage to
    get nearly anything done.

Thanks! I only have the mobile app, but followed the instructions and these worked great. I love the fall day preset on the photos I took around Elk River. Gorgeous!
